Phill Kline | Planned Parenthood | prosecution | The Daily Caller - Breaking News, Opinion, Research, and Entertainment

It is not news that Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry play hardball to achieve their goals politically. Indeed, playing hardball in politics is anticipated. Most do not bat an eye when things get rough — until a line is crossed.

So it is with a legal ethics case brought by the disciplinary administrator of the Kansas Supreme Court against former Kansas Attorney General and Johnson Country District Attorney Phill Kline. Kline’s hearing started today.

Five of the seven justices on the Kansas Supreme Court, which is considered one of the more activist state courts in the country, were appointed by pro-abortion former Governor, and now Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius.

The Court has been engaged in a running battle with lower courts over criminal charges brought by Kline against Planned Parenthood of Kansas and Mid-Missouri.

When serving as Johnson Country district attorney in 2007, Kline filed 107 counts, including 23 felonies, against a Johnson Country Planned Parenthood abortion clinic.

Kline charged that the facility was engaged in illegal late-term abortions.

Meet Gary

Redbook Magazine has opened the voting for The Hottest Husband of 2011, no this is not a plug for dh, it is however a shameless plug for a very worthy contestant, Gary W.

Here is his bio per Redbook
This dad of nine (!) would give Mr. Brady a run for his money. "Instead of plopping in front of the T.V. after a long day at work, Gary helps me with dinner, cleans up, gives the kids baths, and puts them to bed," says Shannon, 36. He'll even shoo his wife for a weekend away with her mom to have a break. "He does great while I'm gone," Shannon says. "He makes up silly songs to get the children to do things like go to bed or clean up their toys." Even with 11 people under one roof, the couple still manages to make time for each other. "Every morning and evening, Gary makes coffee and brings it to me," she says. "It sounds small, but it means so much. It's our time together." And Gary's Army job helps him stay in great physical shape. At age 40, he still gets the maximum score on his physical fitness tests, beating many of the younger guys. However, "it's his smile that I would say is his best feature," says Shannon. "I still melt whenever I see it."

What more could we want to represent the Hottest Husband for 2011 than a man who understands the commitment that is marriage, 19 year and counting, a dad of 9 great kids and an active soldier in the US Army. VOTE FOR GARY W and ask everyone you know to do the same :) Thank you :)

Or maybe not . . .

I was talking to my mom yesterday while dh was out collecting for the newspaper and wouldn't ya know it, he took charge and got the whole unserviceable situation resolved.  As of yesterday what his boss said could not be done, not even appealed, was not only appealed but completely overturned.  Two unserviceable communities will now be receiving the newspaper on a daily basis thanks to dh's willingness to take it there and his decision to commit to the route.  Sure the higher ups thinks he's a little nutty for having so many kids but it helped reassure them that he was going to stick with it :)  So we can learn 2 things from this situation: 1. a single person can change things (good or bad), thanks lady who complained and 2. it only take 1 person willing to stand up and fight to get it fixed :)  Dh's boss called last night and told him, I don't know what you said but congratulations.  I hope it will inspire him and many other carriers to consider re-servicing the many small towns/cities that were previously considered unserviceable.

Tax time again

Well it's tax time again and for the first time in a long time I am not doing taxes except our own.  Yes I know I'm weird but I really like doing taxes, I enjoy the thrill of seeing how best to apply the laws to someones advantage.  Sadly, my boss has closed up shop :(  Anyway, for those of you that don't mind giving it a go on your own here is a tip or two.

Never pay to e-file unless you want to.  The IRS has partnered with several software companies to offered many the chance to file their federal taxes for free.  For those of us in KS, you can file your state income tax, along with your homestead claim for free online.  Several states also have this option for residents, check with your state department of revenue for more info.

If you have business taxes and don't know where to go, try out this taxsoftware.com  You can file your Federal business taxes for as little as $15.

Well, hopefully you kept track of your various mileage and expenses (or can reasonably recreate them).  As for next year, don't forget to keep a little note pad in the car to help you keep track.  A small envelope for receipts is handy in the glove box or even on the visor.  Well, happy tax season everyone :)
