Knock your boots!

I tell the kids daily, "knock my boots out before you bring 'em to me". My dh would laugh and ask if it's to make sure something didn't eat my face (long story, I have issues I know). Anyway the point is, the kids humor me at this point and they all (even my baby) knock out the boots. Imagine dh's surprise this morning as he was half asleep getting ready to milk Treva when he found that there was a mouse in his boot, lol. Who's laughing now, lol!!!! So please remember that even if you don't live in the country it is a good practice to knock your boots before butting them on. :)

Hmm, I've always looked in my shoes, but now I'm a little afraid what I might find...guess I'll have to start knocking them together first, then looking, and then putting them on!

I have to tell you, I am glad I wasn't taking a drink when I first read your title... you see, in our "neck of the woods"...the term "knocking boots" has a bit ummmm...well, different meaning, LOL! It is used to describe "marital fellowship" ;) in a crude terminology.

Aside from the great laugh though, it is a great practice in the format you are speaking of.. my dear hubby is often finding things that the toddlers hide in his shoes..YOUCH!

I do that mainly to knock spiders out. I've never had one fall out of my shoe but you can never be too careful!
