Pigs!!

We are off to pick up 15 weaner pigs today. The deal was too good to pass up and as with most of the other things we have found on this journey it seems God-timed. I had been looking at this guys ad for a little while and thought it would be nice but blew it off. I finally asked dh to call as I figured we should get a few for the home. Turns out the guys had planned to take them to auction today, so we ended up getting them for a steal of a deal, in the nick of time. (God time) :) Well, we're going to have to talk to dh's work and see what kind of deal we can make to buy produce, my garden was not quite ready for them yet. Well, we'll see how it goes. We'll begin taking orders in the next few months for the whole or halves, pricing details will need to be worked out and will be listed soon. :)

FYI, I've added a blog subscription option so everyone can keep up on the happenings around our little ranch via email. :)

We're interested. If we can find a place of our own and get that chest freezer we'd like, we'd love half a pig!

Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer choice. Some people like pigs, and some can't stand the smell. (They are highly odoriferous if you happen to be downwind.) I've heard that my great grandfather (1829-1898) loved them. If somebody asked, "Where's Elisha?", the answer was likely to be "Oh, he's out with his pigs."
